Abstract The development of efficient network nodes is a key element for the realization quantum networks which promise great capabilities as distributed computing or provable secure communication. We report node using trapped ion inside fiber-based Fabry–Perot cavity. show generation deterministic entanglement at high fidelity 90.1(17)% between Yb and photon emitted into resonator mode. achieve success probability detection single shot 2.5 × 10 ?3 resulting in 62 Hz rate.
